Don Munz
Don Munz, as a native of California, draws on his unlimited supply of memories for the landscapes he paints. Born in San Francisco, he lived in Southern California for many years but now lives in Kemptville, Ontario and is in the process of becoming a Canadian citizen.
A printmaker for l5 years, Don designed and printed his serigraph editions, totalling 140, and ranging from 175 to 250 per edition. His work was and is sold internationally and has found its way into many corporate collections such as General Motors, 20th Century Fox, Xerox, IBM and many others.
He began painting in oils in 1995, seeking out landscapes that were basically untouched. He and his wife immigrated to Canada where he now finds many unspoiled locales in which to paint.
Don received his Bachelor of Arts degree, with honours from Art Centre College of Design, and completed his Master's degree at California State University of Los Angeles. He holds a California Lifetime College Level Teaching Credential and taught at Pasadena College for several years. His paintings have been repeatedly selected for the prestigious California Art Club Gold Medal Exhibition, the Oil Painters of America show and the Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History Art Show.
