Sue Miller is an award-winning Canadian oil painter whose landscapes and still life paintings explore the quiet beauty of familiar places, changing light, and the moments that invite us to slow down and take notice.

Much of Sue’s inspiration comes from time spent exploring the Canadian landscape. Whether walking a shoreline at sunrise, paddling across a still lake, or noticing reflected light, she is drawn to moments that might otherwise pass unnoticed. These experiences become the foundation for paintings that evoke a sense of peace, connection, and familiarity, inviting viewers to reflect on their own memories and experiences.

Sue is particularly fascinated by light and its ability to transform an ordinary scene into something memorable. Working primarily in oils, she uses rich colour, subtle texture, and meticulous attention to detail to capture not only the appearance of a landscape or still life, but also the atmosphere and emotion of the moment.

Largely self-taught, Sue has built a respected career as a contemporary realist painter. She is a Signature Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (AFCA) and an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists and the Ontario Society of Artists. Her work has received numerous honours and awards, and she has been recognized by established Canadian arts organizations and exhibitions. She has also completed public and commemorative commissions for the Town of Whitby and Station Gallery.

Sue’s paintings have been featured internationally in International Artist magazine, and her original oil paintings are represented by galleries in Ontario and held in private collections throughout Canada and internationally.

For Sue, painting is a way of preserving experiences that deserve to be remembered.
