Céleste Charland
Growing up in North Bay, Ontario, Céleste had a passion for drawing and painting from a very young age. She was always been fascinated with the interplay between light and shadow and she loved exploring the magic of colour. The beauty of every day life inspires her work. She loves to offer a subtle surreal quality to what we take for granted, helping the viewer appreciate the extraordinaty in the ordinary.
Céleste has lived in North Bay, Sudbury, Manotick and now resides in Westboro, Ottawa with her husband. She is fortunate to be living very close to her four adult sons and her amazing grand children.
Céleste has studied part-time at the Ottawa School of Art and Atelier de Brésoles (Montréal) and she has been a mentored by amazing teachers including Dominik Modlinski, Andrew Sookrah, Gordon Harrison and Brian Buckrell.
