David Bromley

David was born in Kingston, Ontario, and moved to Perth at the age of 9 months. He now lives in Ottawa but spends his summers close by at Otty Lake. His Father, Walter Bromley moved the family to Perth in 1954 to become Manager of Shaws Department Store and remained at Shaw’s for 30 years. His Mother Jean Acton was a teacher and taught in Lavant in the early 30’s and then at Queen Elizabeth School in Perth from the mid 50’s to the mid 70’s.

So, it’s no surprise that the environment that he grew up in would result in David being an astute business man, creative artist, and Coordinator and Professor of Graphic Design in the School of Media and Design at Algonquin College in Ottawa.

After hours, he takes his creativity to the studio where he self-describes as “dabbling” in many areas of art but concentrates on pastel painting, yarn/cord painting, wood/linoleum block hand-pulled prints, and, most recently, acrylic painting.

Studio 87 is proud to add David and his unique medium to its roster of talented artists.
